How it works
MacBook HWP Viewer lets you open .hwp (Hancom Hangul) files in the browser when you don't have Hancom Office on macOS — useful for government, school, or work documents.
- Choose an HWP file — drag from Finder or use the file button.
- Browser rendering — the open-source parser draws the document as pages you can flip through.
- Copy the body text — pull visible strings from the rendered pages when you need a quote, not a screenshot.
- Local only — nothing is uploaded; processing stays in browser memory.
FAQ
Why won't HWP open on Mac?
macOS has no built-in HWP support. You need Hancom Office, Hancom Viewer, or a browser viewer like this tool.
Does it support HWPX?
Yes — both .hwp and .hwpx can be opened in the browser. Complex formatting may still differ from Hancom Hangul.
Is my file uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser only.
Will it match the original layout?
Complex tables, images, and equations may differ from Hancom Hangul. For print or submission, verify in Hancom.
Can I copy the document text?
Yes. After a file opens, use Copy text to put the extracted body on the clipboard. Layout-heavy pages may miss some strings.
